first word!

Kaylee took advantage of a video that cousin Lynnea brought that helped speed up Kaylee's learning of the alphabet. Today on the way to school we stopped at a stop sign and she said 'stop'. She usually does since she's been taught that 'red means stop' and 'green means go'.

I decided to take it a step further and asked her to tell me the letters she saw. She said.....'s.....t....o.....p'. I told her 'yes, that's how you spell STOP!' I gave her a high five and we continued on. A minute later I decided to quiz her on the word she spelled by reading the letters. I asked her to spell STOP without seeing it. "S...T....O....P," she said! YEAH!

When we got home after school we called a few family members and shared Kaylee's new word. Her very first word she spelled on her own! Yippee!

As you can plainly see.

Kaylee made this in preschool and gave it to me today. This is only 1/2 of the picture...the other half has the cute poem above written on it. Thanks Kaylee! That's so sweet!

kaylee, where's cade?

I was busy in the kitchen and noticed I hadn't seen Cade in a little while. I had previously chased them out of my room and bathroom a while before but Cade was lagging behind so I left the door open. I had somehow figured out that is where I needed to go first...one of the funnest places to be in the house....the master bathroom. I walked in to find the bathroom a new type of waterfall retreat for the house. He had gotten a few of my things on the counter and clogged the drain with cleansing cotton swabs with a basket and other objects floating around the overflowing sink. Geez these kids are too active for a tired mommy.
I've had this problem with each pregnancy for various different situations...forgotten what I was going to do, forgot to get something important, or an important date. This pregnancy is no different.

Today I went shopping and just as the last couple items were checked out I dug through my bag and realized that my wallet was at home on the counter, where I've told myself a few times today to 'put it in my bag'. Of course, I didn't remember.

They had to put my groceries on hold while I ran home with the kids and got my wallet. Oh the joys of pregnancy!

more of momma's helpers

Cade has been very interested in the washing machine. He loves to pull up anything that he can stand on just to watch the clothes agitate in the washer. Today Kaylee got into the action. She helped load the clothes in and had tons of fun watching it with Cade.
Cute little bum bum helpers!
Hopefully this excitement over chores lasts well into their chore years! Just wait...when you're 12 you'll do your own laundry!

from Kelly

3 JOYS:
1. Being married to my Honeybuns, David and being able to stay at home with my kiddos and not feeling 'without needs'
2. My 2 1/2 children. The more time I spend with them the more I enjoy the time and look forward to watching them develop.
3. Having my family that I've been put with. Even my bro and sisters in law are AWESOME!

FEARS:
1. My back doing a 180 and taking me back to the doctor.
2. anxiety or depression that I can't control.
3. Not feeling loved or accepted.

3 GOALS:
1. To be a soother, not super mother. I want my kids to look back at their childhood with happy memories knowing that I never let my anger or frustrations control how I acted towards them. They always knew I loved them during hard and happy times.
2. To be a better support for David.
3. To fit in a size 6/8 again.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS:
1. New styles of dresses for sunday...that I can wear pregnant and 'un'pregnant.
2. Cute jewlery or clothes ideas from Kelly, my very cool looking twin...I'm the one wearing the T-shirts and flip flops and whatever pants/skirt that isn't too dirty...she's the one is sexy heels and the cutest top and bottoms and makeup ever!!
3. I love to shop, but don't get out much.

RANDOM SURPRISING FACTS:
1. I sleep with earplugs...I'm a light sleeper.
2. I have my own workshop...and built it too along with with electrical.
3. I ALWAYS have to do my hair and makeup....I need to be 'put together' so when David comes home, he comes home to a bootiful wife and home! If you ever see me without one or both, then it's been a horrible day!

whoops....forgot to tag someone else:

he's still a he

I had an OB appointment today to get an ultrasound and a checkup. I had taken my glucose test a week ago so I also was going to find out if all was well with that. It turns out that he is still a he. No surprises for that. When we first looked at his leg he was all curled up tightly, but his 'little boy parts' were poking out...so that was that. It's definately a boy. For my glucose test it came back a bit elevated....I was a 152 and the cut off point is 145. I need to go in for the 3 hour test...grrr. She said possibly that it is just nothing, but to be sure, I need to get it done. I also got my rhogam shot too since I'm rH negative. Fun times.

In this photo you can see little dudes right arm in front of his face. The chord is right in front of his nose. You can see his eye and nose...like a side profile.

Here you can see his face...with a nice little chunky nose. Cade had a cute chunky nose when he was born. His forearm is also in front of his jaw and so is some of the chord. He was jumping off the walls. The radiologist was amazed at how active he was.
Currently he is breach, but he has pleanty of time to turn and get comfortable. Currently I'm supposed to be a bit over 27 weeks but they say that he's measuring at 29 weeks...a bit over 2 pounds. 94th percentile.

little swiper

Today at church Kaylee I believe was given a gummy worm for a treat. She took it in the car with her and was playing with it...making the letter "C" and showing me. Out of the blue Cade reaches over and swipes it. In one single motion the helpless worm is shoved into his mouth and the chewing begins. Kaylee is NOT happy about this. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw Cades little jaw chewing like crazy with the worm poking out every once in a while. To be honest, it was hard to keep from laughing.

I kept the peace by promising Kaylee a goodie when we got home. A bit later Cade finished it and faced Kaylee and opened his mouth big and wide and pushed out his tongue as to say "ha ha! I swiped the worm and now it's gone!" I turned around to see Kaylee with a glare as piercing as I've ever seen. I couldn't keep it in. I started to laugh. That made Kaylee smile.

As soon as we got home Kaylee got a nice handful of m&m's and the episode has been forgotton!

farewell pool party

Tonight we all had tubbies together. I had to make sure to get this last 'pool party' captured. It seems like Kaisa isn't sure about all this commotion. Kaisa looks pretty comfy in Lynnea's arms. Lynnea, the great protector of her little sister.
We've had a fun week....and a long week.
When Jared and Rachel came home about 9pm Lynnea and Kaylee were still awake in their room playing around. Lynnea was so excited to see her mommy and daddy again. She let them know that she loves Kaylee but "I don't like Cade." It's true, Lynnea and Cade butted heads one too many times for many different reasons, mostly ridiculous reasons. That's what you get with two 2 year olds. When Kaisa was woken up she seemed shocked to see her parents again. She kept glancing at me and David to see what might be going on. "Wait a second...If these are my parents, then who are you?" They must have been happy to be back in their good old beds once again. I can't wait to see how the kids react to us when we see them again. Will they run for their parents, afraid to be taken away, or will they ask to live with us another week (but only if Cade isn't there)? :)

momma's little helper

Cade is in love with Kaisa. He's so gentle with her. He loves to get in her face and smile at her, but that can get annoying to her which makes her upset.
I was busy getting stuff cleaned up after lunch and Cade came over to Kaisa who was wanting more strawberries and he started giving her the little pieces that I had on my cutting board. What a cute little helper. Kaisa was very happy for the generous cousin that wasn't eating her food, but instead giving it to her. For Cade, that's a HUGE thing!

i want some chikin nuggets

Every morning Lynnea will ask for Chicken Nuggets. I tell her that chicken nuggets are for Lunch, not Breakfast. She whines a bit...and then asks again. I've been able to win those battles. Today though, we had lunch early...10am. Lynnea was excited to get her nuggets.

It seems like she was only hungry for chicken nuggets during the morning. When we would have them for dinner she wouldn't eat them, or she would tell us she wasn't hungry. confusing little one! Kaylee and Cade like to eat them with dip-dip....katsup. Lynnea insists not to have it.

I got these cute photos of Cade savoring every last piece of his lunch. Yumm Yumm Yummo.

thong....thong thong thong thong

I'm in the bathroom getting Cade dressed and his diaper changed in the morning and Kaylee comes in excited to show me something. She says, "Mommy, look!" I turn around to see what was so fun to bring in to show me. She turns around and shows me that her little panties are wedged between her two little cheeks. Too funny.

I talked to David a little while later about it and the first thing he says is, "You didn't take a picture of it did you?" Why? Like I take a lot of photos of my kids? Well, acutally I do, but this time I didn't. I spared Kaylee's future embarassment with this photo op.

two in one day?

I am now officially down a friend. Amanda Sparks...aka Brooke White....left yesterday to live in Washington state. It still seems unreal to think that she's gone. We all knew one day that someone from our little group would be leaving...that day has gone. Then to add salt to an open wound, Brooke White was voted off of American Idol too. Two 'Amandas' are gone in one day. Somehow I thought it would be the week that Amanda left when Brooke would be voted off. Miss you already Amanda. Get to bloggin as soon as you can. Love you tons. xoxo
