aint nutin purdier than a purdy girl wif purdy shoes

I was at target the other day and just to fancy my imagination I strolled by the shoe section to take a gander at my favorite shoes that I'd love to buy Kaylee but they were too expensive for my taste. Finally I saw that they were in the clearance section and marked down to 6 bucks! AND, they were in her size....well, a size larger, but that's all the better...she'll wear them longer!
She loves to dance to some hip music and requested her pretty tutu and I thought it would be fun for her to try out the new shoes. They're so cute. I think she gets the cute shoe wearing talent from auntie Kelly.

self inflicted torture

Yesterday we had some frun friends over. Emilie came over with Eden and Avi and brought over two other favorite friends of ours...Brody and Ashton. Somehow Ashton and Cade got into a precarious position and began whining. We came in to see them locked down unwillingly and unable to get loose. Ashton looks pretty cool with the whole thing, but Cade's face is all scrunched up...it's too cute when he does that. He's just so munchable! xoxo

pssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Kaylee sure had an experience at school today. While in the little bathroom in her school room the toilet blew out on her. Her teacher was standing right next to the door and saw all this water spray out. She came out of the bathroom and told her teacher, "I made a booboo." At first Kaylee was laughing along with the teacher and her aides, but soon she was crying and kept saying she was scared. Poor Kaylee got her pants and shoes and socks all wet. Thank goodness there was an extra change of shorts and shoes in her bag. When I got Kaylee from school she described the toilet fiasco as a 'pshhhhh' sound and kept saying, "Mommy, I'm scared." It was too cute though. I could tell that when the teacher and I were talking about it and giggling that Kaylee was a bit embarassed.

mommy, buddy stuck

so the kids are outside and Kaylee comes in saying, "Mommy, buddy stuck." I haven't heard that from her speaking about buddy in a while so I knew he had gotten himself in a situation where sister had to be the rescue police.

I came out to the amazement that Cade had managed to get on top of the AC. I was surprised that it wasn't on, or wasn't about to turn on. Imagine how frightening that could have been! yikes!

Kaylee thought this was prime time for a photo.

soon enough, both were on top of the AC and begging for help getting down.

it's ladies night

Emile, Amanda (aka Brooke White) and I went out and reaked havoc on the town last night. Amanda...I mean Brooke....will be moving to Washington state in a few weeks so we needed a bit of a party night before our wonderful friend leaves us. We went to the mall and had fun trying on things and 'attempting' to embarass each other. I came away with a pretty green dress from Motherhood and Amanda got a few nice scarfs...so european!....and a few other things. Emilie was a good window shopper. We then went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner....kinda our tradition. We were down by a gal pal. Sheena was out celebrating her 22nd birthday....Happy Birthday today Sheena.
Amanda....we're going to miss you so much....but not as much as you'll miss us!
xoxo
we heart you

it's a slippery slope

Kaylee was having fun at breakfast and I thought it would be nice to get some photos. But that lasted all but one shot.
She then decided the session was over.

'it's over mom!'

General Conference

Kaylee and Cade enjoyed the coloring handouts I got from Emilie. They seemed to like their own desk setup in the livingroom in front of the TV. They loved to draw over everything. Maybe next year I'll make them write a 100 word essay of what they learned at Conference!

Kaylee adds a bit of 'rouge' to the prophets faces.

Cade getting into the action too.

happy birthday honey!

Today David turns 30! Hard to believe that since he doesn't act a day older than 6 sometimes! I'm so happy to belong to such a wonderful man! He's a wonderful father and great provider for our family. He's done so much for us and I am happy to be with him forever. Happy Birthday Honeybuns!

enchanted

We rented 'Enchanted' and the kids LOVE it. I'd say Kaylee is addicted to it. I turned the movie on while I was getting the kitchen cleaned up. Cade got nice and comfy on the couch. TOO comfy! He was so tired he couldn't watch the movie or even finish a favorite snack of his....popcicle! He's never fallen asleep like this before.

take me out to the ballgame!

Richard was in town from Houston to attend a conference in Scottsdale. He was able to get some pre-season baseball tickets for the A's and the Giants. It was fun to go up and hang out for the day with Richard.
Our first seats were in the back with standing, sitting room only. It was super hot so we eventually moved to the side bleachers where there was a bit of room to sit. The kids enjoyed the bleachers and exploring.

Cade really enjoyed the powdered doughnuts at the game!

after an inning. there were over 10,000 people there attending the game. wow.

After the game we went back to the Scottsdale Resort where Richard was staying. We walked around for a bit, and played in the tennis court throwing balls to the kids. It was interesting to go to the dinner with two small kids and being surrounded by all these Accounting professors from all over the country. They seemed to enjoy the entertainment of having the two little munchkins in their midst. It was a fun day!

exercising with gma and gmpa

My mom and dad came to Arizona to help us put in shelves and a workbench in our garage. It was a long but fun week. I was able to help dad every day out in the garage. We were out there from about 9am to 10pm each night. I was able to learn a lot of useful things. Mom was inside entertaining the kiddos...going outside to pick weeds, reading books, jumping on the matress, going to the park, going on walks....Kaylee and Cade really enjoyed grammie!
Unfortunately we didn't finish the garage project totally. Thus, this job has now turned into phase 1 and 2. In August when the baby comes, they will be back again and Dad will have to work in the oven outside...and you thought 75 degrees felt like 95!
I can't wait for them to come back!

im blue, what are you?

Take this test!
You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

tony

On Friday a great friend of ours, Tony was in a motorcycle accident...against a bus. A school bus pulled in front of him turning left while he was traveling on his motorcycle. He has multiple broken bones and a crushed vertebrae. He is in a lot of pain and has gone through one surgery so far. We are thinking of him and Alicia. Please know that we're praying for you! We love you guys!

we have a fish!?

Tonight I made a MAD salmon marinade. David is in love with the marinade. I was glad I picked a good tasting one that he would like.

I wanted to see if the kids would eat the salmon, but no luck. Cade's few bits of 'precious' salmon were thrown on the floor (thus some time-out's for him) and finally I was able to get kaylee to try her's. I said "Kaylee, eat your fish please" while pointing to it. She looked at it and said "fish?" I saw her pick it up and then got distracted with something else.

Later I looked over and saw her hand in her cup of water. She was putting corn in it...not a big surprise since she will sometimes play in her cup of water. I asked her what she was doing...and expecting a sorry or a blank stare she said she was feeding the fish! I looked in her cup and there was a small piece of salmon on the bottom of the cup with corn floating around. When I asked her to eat her fish and she didn't like it, she just decided to let it swim around in her water and feed it some food.

That was quite a cute moment. She was serious about her fish and giving it some food.
